Anxiety and depression, or fear and sadness, are opposite sides of the same coin and often come hand-in-hand to bring about low mood, loss of motivation, low energy, sleep disturbance, sexual dysfunction and decreased wellbeing. Fear and sadness are normal responses to stress, loss and difficult life events, but when they stop being a response to something specific, we can flounder and feel overwhelmed by feelings of failure, reinforced by unhelpful patterns that we may have got into. This is where talking with a Counsellor can help you to break those cycles.
At Just Minded we use a person-centred, humanistic approach to allow you to express yourself, explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight into your difficulties and then decide what you want to do about it. We integrate parts of cognitive-behavioural and transactional analysis approaches into the work, to help you to equip yourself with the understanding and strategies that will enable you to regain balance in your life.
